hotel is beautiful. All furniture s very comfortable. The rooms are perfect - no bright lights at night, you have complete control over thermostat, towels and linen nice, iron and steamer. Service is inconsistent. got turndown service 2 out of 5 days. I don't need it, but just lack of consistency. It appears the hotel can run out of bottled water - so plan accordingly. Breakfast was the least service until later in my stay when it improved. Service was very slow, orders typically incorrect in some way, food cold, waiting 15 minutes for coffee and water after sitting down. My last 2 days it did improve. Also, no bar or restaurant is open before 7 am. Now they put out an urn in the coffee chop so guests can help themselves to coffee beginning at 6. Also, espresso maker in room. Food is touch and go. The best pizza ever is at Lia at dinner. While you may see pizza on the menu at other restaurants, the pizza won't be the same because the great pizza oven is only at Lia. Such a shame. Food is ample, but not necessarily tasty. Shrimp and fist was always good. The tuna enchilada at lunch is very good and the duck salad at the Japanese restaurant is very good. The concierges always tried to make things improve and always asked if everything was good. Waiters at the pool and beach were working hard. The cons: the resort points are ridiculous. To use the special sauna, hot tub,, etc at the spa you need to spend some $ -the spa hot tub had NO jets. We were able to completely avoid the Legendary sales people. If you're not into that type of thing - tell them you're hungry and go to a meal immediately to avoid them. Elmer, Carlos, and Yiovanni really tried hard and care about the resort.

This was our first all inclusive resort experience and we loved every bit of it! The room was amazing, the food was great and the environment was impeccable. We had a swim up room, and although we knew it was right there by the pool and not that far off, we had to take a moment of realization but then it was all good lol. We had a great host with Angel, he was awesome, keeping us up to date with the daily activities and booking our restaurants and with advice. Our favorite diner was Lia and Kobo was a close second. We loved to hang by the beach and enjoy Piñadas and Fresadas. All the attendants were awesome. Victor + Victor at Lia, Alberto at the beach, were awesome.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. The resort is beautiful, the pools are clean, and the adults-only atmosphere is relaxing. More activities and a bit more Latin music around the pool would make the experience even better. Restaurant service was great and staff were attentive, but room service needs improvement my food arrived cold and the burger was undercooked. Also, the minibar was restocked as if only one person was staying in the room. Housekeeping kept the room clean, but there was a noticeable sewer smell throughout our stay. We were asked multiple times if we were celebrating anything and shared that our day of arrival was our wedding anniversary. Despite these questions nothing special was arranged. We didn’t expect anything but the multiple questions gave us unrealized hope. Special thanks to our concierge Angel for helping us during our stay, Pablo at the lobby bar for great service, and Alberto by the pool for always taking care of us. Overall, it’s a nice resort with potential a few improvements could make the experience much stronger.

Let me begin by saying that we had a lovely week at Unico 20 105. We went to Unico 20 87 last winter and wanted to try the new location in PV. There were many great things about 20 105 but also some areas where they could improve. For those who have been to 20 87, don’t expect this to be the same experience. I think 20 105 should make sure to distinguish itself from 20 87 as a more relaxing and low key getaway as that is what it is. Pros: -Relaxing: don’t expect this resort to be the same as Unico 20 87. It seems to be an older crowd and much less of a party atmosphere (quiet atmosphere, quiet music). They also don’t have as many daily activities (fitness or crafts). -Food: food was excellent. Menu items were curated and portions were appropriate as to reduce waste. There were many options and they were able to make adjustments when asked. -Friendliness: all of the staff here were lovely. They went above and beyond to always smile and greet you. -Staff: Eugene at Aquamadre, Orlando and Betza at Legendary pool bar, Rosario at the spa, Ivette and Leonardo at Alto pool bar, Hector and Alexander at Lia, and Axel at lobby bar stood out as being excellent staff. They worked hard and were very friendly. -Live music at night in the lobby: there are nights with live music (preferred) and a couple nights with a DJ. Cons: -No fruit ceviche! This was my favorite at 87 and I was sad that it wasn’t on the menu here. There could have been more fresh fruit in general but especially for breakfast and lunch options. -I’d prefer there to be some special cocktails listed or a small menu of drinks. Sometimes it’s harder to think of what you want off the top of your head and it’s nice to have a menu to choose from. -Running out of things: multiple days the staff had to say that they ran out of ingredients. They didn’t have the calamari one night at dinner, they ran out of vanilla flavor at the cafe for more than 2 days straight, didn’t have tajin at one point and had to get more, ran out of patron at the pool bar one afternoon, and then the bartender at the pool bar had to go get more ice himself one day. Just seems like they need to tighten up their ordering and supply and have runners who deliver supplies when needed. -Noise in the room: we had suite 105 which is on the ground level and a swim up room. The draw back is that you can hear quite loudly the live music from the lobby at night. On early nights, we were okay because we sleep with a white noise machine but I can see how this would be unpleasant for some. We could also hear the people in the neighboring room at times. -Pool party: the pool party was simply not one. For one hour, they seemingly played more upbeat music but it wasn’t loud and there was nothing special that happened. Since we’ve been to Unico 20 87, this was strange to us and seemed like a sad attempt. -Spa prices: I used my resort credit for a massage but without that I would have never paid full price. The prices are just too expensive. I think they would actually make more money if they lowered the prices some and then more people might book appointments. Google limits the length of the review so I posted a more detailed version on TripAdvisor.

This resort is about 20 minutes from the airport and about 40 minutes uber from the main downtown area. It’s very quiet and easy place to be forced to relax. The food is next level for an all inclusive. Amazing. Everyone is friendly - th workers joke and get along with one another as well. There’s not much for evening entertainment. Just music every night 9pm. The main bar - and only real bar gets really busy at times making it hard to get a drink. Should keep the bar at AquaMadre open later. Maybe music out on terrace in the evenings after dinner. For couples, this is a perfect getaway. For people looking to party and late into the night, go elsewhere this place is not for you.

@kplusds We spent a lovely week here in January. This is one of the BEST months to visit here - it’s the perfect time to take a break from the winter weather at home, and the whale watching is awesome!! This property is an intimate setting with limited rooms and 3 restaurants. You quickly get to know your fellow vacationers and staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The large tub on the balcony makes for a romantic private evening as you watch the sun set. The spa experience is a must do!! The hydrotherapy is so much fun and followed up with an 80 minute hot stone massage made me never want to go home!!

Spent a week at Unico in Puerto Vallarta & it was hands down the best week ever! From the butlers to the servers to the bartenders— everyone & everything was sooo wonderful. Special shout out to Alberto & Victor — they made our stay so much fun when we were at the pools & always made sure we had everything we wanted. Orlando & Carlos — the best bartenders. Made the yummiest drinks & the best conversations. Javier & Josue— they made our check in / out process a breeze. They made sure we had everything we wanted scheduled & we’re just great company. My first international trip & I am so very thankful it was at Unico in Puerto Vallarta! I already miss everyone & can’t wait to visit again. Gracias, Puerto Vallarta!

My daughter and I had a wonderful 4 night stay at Unico. I have been to a handful of all inclusive hotels/resorts, but the service at Unico is hands down the best I’d ever experienced. The staff are friendly and hospitable and genuinely seem to want to make your stay a great experience. Every single staff member we encountered was fantastic. Some of the standouts for us were Angel (waiter at Lia and AguaMadre), Gabriel and Leonardo at the rooftop bar, and Carlos Miranda, our local host/concierge. There were a number of staff in the restaurants whose names we didn’t catch (those who brought bread, cleared plates, etc.); ALL were wonderful. We also appreciated being able to email with the resort ahead of our stay and the warm, helpful, and welcoming responses we received (thank you, Victor!). We loved every aspect of this hotel. The room was comfortable and clean with a great view of the ocean (including nightly sunsets). We spent a lot of time at the rooftop pool area and even saw whales in the distance. The food at the hotel is absolutely wonderful, and I’ve never said that about an all inclusive resort. We liked that all meals are a la carte; everything was fresh and delicious. We especially enjoyed the guacamole and desserts. We utilized room service a few times; our orders were delivered within 40 minutes, and everything was hot and fresh. The gentlemen who do room service delivery take great care to set up your food in your room. The room service menu is very generous with options. The quality of room service was again something I’d never experienced at an all inclusive. We loved the coffee shop (loved their dirty iced chai and cranberry oatmeal cookies in particular). The resort is on a very quiet part of the beach that is swimmable, walkable, and uncrowded. The hotel is also a 5 minute Uber ride ($6) to the Vallarta Adventures excursion office. We went on the whale watching photo tour and found this company to be a class act. If our trip was longer, we would have gone on another excursion with this company. We are not sure if it’s because the resort is small, the resort is newer (and not as well known yet), or because we were there right after New Year’s Eve, but the resort was never crowded and we could always find chairs at the pool and beach. If a very lively resort and party atmosphere is your vibe, then this probably is not your place; however, if you are looking for a small, intimate, quiet place to relax where food, service, and views are your priorities, Unico is for you!
